cinagel: (Bedroom Eyes)
I've been pretty stressed out the last couple of weeks. Honestly its all of my own doing because my brain is stubborn and dumb. So I've been trying my best to keep it all under control.
Going back to Yoga next week. I've been away too long since July was insanely busy. NEED that moment of destressing and meditation back!
Anyways, going to talk about some small but cool things that perk me up a bit.

1-I actually DREW stuff for Gathering! granted I only have three pieces and not a damn one is finished but I DID start them. I'm particularly proud of my Dense Macabre Demona picture (google Dense Macabre so you know what I'm talking about;)). I made do another one of Hudson. I'm having WAY too much fun with the style.

2-My 2 year performance review at work was aces. Pretty much a perfect score all across the board. WOOT! I also found out my membership sales were past the $1000 almost every month. Damn, that's a lot of memberships! O.o Anyways, the good review stroked my ego and made me feel better. Wow, 2 years went by already?

3-Saturday is girls day by the pool with the Iron Maiden madiens over at Beth's place. I need a day to unwind so I am REALLY looking forward to this.

4-Gathering in two weeks! Woot! It will be a bit like our wedding since a good chunk of the con also came to that too. I need to get some stuffs in order for the art show then we are off like a herd of turtles.

5-Mr Max made the best Meatloaf and Mashed potatoes EVAR in the history of EVAR!!!!!! Hooray comfort food!

And now I feel happy. Woot.

Hey guys. Another art auction as gone up and this one contains a very special piece.
Karine Charlebois was extremely generous and has offered up an original panel from the Slave Labor Graphic's Gargoyles spin off comic Bad Guys!
Seriously folks, this thing is great. I have the copy of it at home and its beautiful!
And Rare too! We're not talking a print but an actual original page hand drawn for the comic!!

We also have another great ATC up by CK Russel as well as a print by Moi.

You can see our auctions here: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/gargoyles-convention

All proceeds go to support Gathering of the Gargoyles: http://www.gatheringofthegargoyles.com/g2009
cinagel: (flirty Eden)
So I'll have a panel up in the Gathering Art show...and I have NO idea what to put up!
Seriously, I'm drawing blanks here.

So I'm asking you, oh fellow fans who will be at Gathering (or won't. I'm not picky). What would you like to see from me?
Comedy pieces? Movie Parody Posters? 3D stuff? Character stuff? Original characters?
Not asking what will sell, just asking what you think would be fun to see from me.
If anything I can use this as a spring board to get my creative juices flowing.

And on the same note....
I'll be once again hosting the Costuming 101 panel this year. It will probably be the same ol same ol.
So another question. If you come to my panel would you like to hear all about the basics as usual or would you rather I do something completely different? What would you like to hear about? Want to make it a mini workshop? Bring your masquarade costume and we make it a con Stitch n Bitch?

And just to pimp, I'm going to be hosting the cracked out competition "Project Rungarg" as well this year. Think of it as Iron Artist but with costumes. (I think some anime cons do this and call it Iron Cosplay).  I'll be providing some wacky cheep materials and the attendees will be separated into teams. They then have to create a cannon character costume in 30-45 minutes using said materials and do a runway show.. A good time will be had by all!
I'm really hoping to make this panel a lot of fun so please come attend it if you're going to Gathering. If anything, it will be a good laugh.  I'll post the time and date soon...because I'm totally blanking right now.

Going to interrupt my picture dump to say the Gathering art auctions are still happening!

We still have a couple days left on a Xmen Magneto ATC by CK Russel and a gorgeous original gargoyles character print by Mary Caldera.
We ALSO have a commission spot offered by Karine Charlebois. She very rarely offers commissions these days so this is a treat! Only 2 days left!

In addition to those three we have just put up two new auctions. A beautiful hand colored print by Trishana Prater aka [info]karlyl.
And an original drawing by the Fandom's own Jade Griffin!

The bidding starts at $5.
You can see our auctions here: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/gargoyles-convention

All proceeds go to support Gathering of the Gargoyles: http://www.gatheringofthegargoyles.com/g2009

Happy Bidding!!

cinagel: (Cindiana Jones)
I had a total BLAST too!
Trish Kyt and I went over pretty well in AX, probably because our stuff was not you usual fare.  Trish cleaned up on commissions and as usual got some extremely weird ones (OMG! VILE! AAAAHH!) . Kyt cornered our prints market, and while my art sold soso my dollfie crafts did VERY well. I sold out of almost everything I brought. Go me! If we go next year I'm going to make more crafty things to sell. Apparently that is my strong suit.
Trish was a saint and housed us the entire weekend. We commuted to the con center and even though Parking was 12 bucks a day it was better than paying 100 bucks a day for a hotel and a hotel does not come with kitty service and moments of watching Live action Sailor Moon which was COMPLETELY on crack.
It was a fun AX for me mostly because I felt very inspired walking in to Artist Alley and seeing people's other work and crafts. It really made me want to haul out my supplies and make some things just for the heck of it.  I was also encouraged to open an etsy store to sell my doll/craft stuff...I think I may just do that.

I have very little pictures to post but I'll probably toss a few up since our Artist Alley table looked spiffy thanks to Kyt's mom and her banner making skillz.

I came home to a very sunburned husband...and I made fun of him.
He is currently sleeping on the floor at night so I don't accidently touch him in my sleep.... slathered in Aloe.
HAHAHAAHA!!! I love you honey but you look like a lil cherry.:)

And I have a ton of other photos to post (May War, Balboa Park, Wedding of Doom, and big shocker, Honeymoon).

This weekend, LoJ. AH! need to finish my wings.  I've become quite proud of how I've been making lots of things out of crap I have laying around the house instead of constantly going to the fabric store for supplies. GO ME!
cinagel: (Sleep)
Oye. Trying to get stuff done for AX is wearing me out! Its making me realize I am no spring chicken anymore. *LOL*
I've pulled a couple late nights printing some stuff up as well as working on Dollfie crap. I just can't do late weekday nights anymore. Just don't have the energy! The good part is a double dose of green tea does help perk me up at work.

Once again: Trishana, Kythera, and I will be at Anime Expo this weekend in Artist Alley as ZOMGWTF?!!? Studios! at table B14. Come say hi!

I'm hoping I make enough money to pay for food for me there...not that I will starve at the con but it would be nice to not have to spend extra money. Last time I made enough money to pay for my food which wasn't half bad. Reguardless if I make the cash or not I still plan to have a good time with my friends.
If I end up with a ton of prints afterwards I'll attempt to build myself a tiny abulous paper house out of photo paper where I can have tea with my cat.

The weekend was crazy busy but eventful. I managed to take some time off for myself on Friday and spend it in Balboa Park museum hopping. I only went to two museums since I became hypnotized by the rose and cactus gardens there. It was a fun quiet way to unwind and have some Cindy Time. Saturday Max and I went to Pat and Nicole's wedding which was a total BLAST! Much dancing, much eating, and much drinking was performed. I was totally wiped by the time we got home.
I have pics of both events I plan to post eventually if I can get off my damn ass and do it.

And awesome future news front, Max found a GREAT deal for us at Mandalay Bay for our October Ist year Aniversary trip we've been planning. Cheap cheap rates! We'll be booking this weekend I believe. WOOT! Stoked! I feel the undying need to go back to RumJungle!

Still waiting for news on the house front. Ah buracracy.

Alas, no yoga for me tonight. WAY too much stuff to do.

Do To List (after work of course)
Print Gathering Flyers at Kinkos
Scan in Fletcher's commission
Scan Rane's commissions
Finish last of Dollfie Stuff

1-I Spoke with a customer for a while about architecture...granted I know NOTHING about architecture but that is the subject matter of our current exhibit. He was more than willing to fill me in. It was actually an interesting conversation. I also think I convinced him to come to the big lecture on the exhibit too.

2-I tried a burger with hot sauce on it. VERY delicious. I'm sure my belly will pay for it later. The beer soothed me better. Ah Beer.

3-I've been trying out GoodReads which is an interesting site. Now that I work normal hours I've been getting back into reading again. Its been a while since I've read for fun. the last year I've been doing some catching up. Anyone on this site want to add me as a friend? I'm always looking for book recommendations.
I don't write reviews. Not really my thing. But I like suggestions.

I'll be working on stuff for AX this weekend. Got a couple sketches roughed out. I plan to sell some dollfie stuff. Anyone who has a dollfie or knows enough about them, do you think little accessories like mini cat ears and fairy wings would sell decent? They seem like they would be fun to make. I'm wondering if they would even sell. I rather not get stuck with a bunch of little fairy wings after con. *L*
cinagel: (IronMaiden)
WOOO!

First off though, I wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU! To everyone who has been stepping up to my calls for help for Gathering of the Gargoyles .
That little con means a lot to me since I've met some incredible friends and had some wonderful times there. Having you fans and friends jump to so fast with total postitive cries of  "I'll help! What do you need?" and then following through really gives me warm fuzzies. It makes me remember why I got involved in the fandom in the first place.
So thanks to those who have volunteered and to anyone who wants to help out still, feel free to ask me any questions.:)

Anways, I'm off to war tonight. Max and I will be driving up the mountain where I will be away from my computer until Monday, drinking grog, dancing to drum beats (probably very akwardly), and hanging out with The Maiden.
SO STOKED!!
So if you need to get a hold of me, I won't be answering emails until I'm back on Monday evening.
If its ZOMG! urgent, text or call me. I'll have my cell.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey Folks!

Just as a reminder, if you'd like to help out the Gathering this year but can't attend, please check out my post!
http://cinsangel.livejournal.com/650133.html

Also! We're currently looking for fans to host some panels at this years Gathering! We have some already awesome ones lined up for art, costuming (remind me to tell you about my Project Run-Garg event;)) and even a panel on Dollfies by [profile] lybell
Want to host a panel and share your knowledge of anything? Contact the Gathering at
staff (at) gatheringofthegargoyles.com .
Every topic is welcome.:)
cinagel: (Sleep)
Because she is...

So yeah. Its been full court press time here in Cindyville. Its two days before  we leave for War. And I have to admit I got a TON of things done. The walls are painted, the tunics are done, the laundry is washed, the house has been vaccumed, and Max now has a spiffy awesome coat to show off (buttons to be added AT war since all the buttons I've found local suck).
I may be turning this man into a peacock.
This could get messy.

We still have to pack and I still have to make the dang fencing hood (possibly hoods) for the auction. Just need word on the punch test.

Max is working on the OMFGFOODPLANFOR30PEOPLE?!?!1111CRAP! 11!WAHT?! This I believe is the biggest plan we've had since I've joined the household. So our livingroom currently looks like the produce section of Costco.
I sat down on a bag of limes by accident.
 No joke.
I don't recomend that sensation to anyone.
But the good part is the house smells like fresh produce and that makes me happy. And we'll have loads and loads of yummy eats at war which is always a good thing.
Iron Maiden SnB was yesterday. It just me, Lou, and PJ (Ah! My regulars!;D) but we had a great time and got LOTS of things done.  I was in a total haze most of the day since I'm so dead tired lately. But Metalocolypse, Tropic Thunder, and The Dark Knight kept us entertained while we sewed away busily and Max and Ty prepped food.
Though the day gave me once again the crashing conclusion that we need a bigger place if we plan to keep doing this sort of thing.
I LONG for a sewing studio room! Someday this year I will achieve this dream!

After War I'll have to concentrate on finishing two sets of commissions and AX and Gathering prep stuff. I'll have to give myself a crash course in attempting to draw anime. I may bring some dollfie crafty stuff to sell at our  AX Artist Alley table too depending on how experiments go. For Gathering I may put some art up for sale if I can get what I want done. Not sure if I'll have enough time to put a costume together. I really should though. I have yet to miss a year. *L*

Oh, read up on how you can help out Gathering!  http://www.gatheringofthegargoyles.com

Also, my cousin Brian had a baby! Okay he didn't, his wife did but I'm sure he helped out with the process.
Andrew Michael Crane was born yesterday at 5:20pm and he looks a LOT like my cousin. WOOO!
And no, Max and I aren't planning on breeding just yet. Luckily with my Adorable and Incredibly Handsome Newphew Danny, and now with Brand New Baby Cousin Andy we're off the hook and can happily supply the family with the furry Grandchild.

Otherwise I've been in a heavy state of exhaustion due to War prep, work stress, and massive amounts of other things I foolishly put on my plate. Reguardless, I rather be tired doing all this cool stuff.

Cindy need napy poo?
Indeed.
Cindy need long nappy poo.

Hey Gargoyles Fans, Con-Goers and Artists!
In case you've missed it,  please check out this post. The Gathering of The Gargoyles could use a some help!:)
http://cinsangel.livejournal.com/650133.html
cinagel: (Take me hard: Zoe)
So I'm not dead...just been busy.
Way Busy.

On my to do list currently:
Finish painting the maiden crews' devices on the new camp walls(pics to come!)
Pick up mother's day cards for mom, Leelee, and mother-in-law.
Send out said mother's day cards.
Make T-tunics for our nekkid people.
Finish Max's coat for War.
Attempt to make myself a washable Italian Ren for War.
Attempt to tidy up the apartment because its a disgrace.
Totally optional but attempt redecorate apartment to make it feel less cramped.
Squeeze out some quick commissions for a friend in need.
Try to draw anime style for AX...that should be hilarious.

Yup..A bit busy. But its to be expected the few weeks before war. And I've been enjoying the bizarre artistic adventures *L*

I've desided that I'm going to attempt to walk through my days with a smile on my face. this is mostly because I noticed how sour people tend to look when they come through the doors of the museum. They're not mean or angry, just sour looking. I rather not be one of those people. Besides, smiling more may make me less apt to fly into a rage...or look hilarious while I'm flying into a rage.

The house hunt continues. We see thigns we like but they get snatched pretty quickly. We'll find something in time. Until then I'll just keep redecorating. *L*

I should include more pictures on this journal. to bad I'm kinda shitty with a camera. Anyone want to see wacky photos of my life?
Wheeeeee.
cinagel: (kitty love)
I was absent from the interwebs for a little while because I decided to fly home and surprise my mom for an early mother's day gift.
Mom was completely shocked.
Great success!
I had a blast going home to see my mom. I managed to get Thursday off which allowed me to spend two days visiting the fam instead of one quick day. It gave me an extra day to spend with my mom then some time to spend with my adorable and incredibly handsome nephew.
We had a sister, sister, mother shopping day which was a total blast! I managed to find a salmon colored vintage looking coat on sale for $29 (was originally $99) Go ME! I also got a pair of new dress pants because I was in desperate need...I only own about two pairs of work pants and rotate them when possible. Its been a few years since me, Leelee, and mom went on a shopping/bonding trip. I missed it.

Now I'm home with the man and the kitty. I'm drinking some rum and coke and pondering why the hell my sellers permit hasn't arrived in the mail so I can participate in Artists Alley at AX this year. I sent in the ap at the beginning of April then was told my permit was in the mail about two weeks ago.
Come on people..WTF?! Get with the program!
Many phone calls and possible head crushing to follow.

Also...I managed to rearrange the bedroom before I left. I now have a sewing nook. And it was good.

So much to do before May War! I shall be in overdrive for a few weeks. Luckily I enjoy it.:)

Off to finish the rum and coke!
