Honeymoon in Vegas PART TWO - Eletric Boogaloo aka Day One.

It got slow again...
The pic above is actually in Disneyland. We stopped by the D-land on our way home for lunch and to ride Pirate's of the Carribean and Indy since it seemed appropreate.


So we ended up waking up at 5am in the morning since we crashed so early the night before. We tried to PRETEND we were still sleeping but it really didn't work and we rolled out of bed around 6am wide awake. Luckily Vegas is more or less a 24 hour city so it wasn't a bust. Did I mention our room was at the very end of the hallway?

We took a walk from Excalibur to Mandelay Bay cutting through The Luxor. They did some remodeling but I was happy to find they kept the whole egyptian city thing.  Shiney....Thats really why I like Vegas...its shiney. And theres food. There's food and its shiney. I'm a simple woman with simple needs.

And leave it to us to find the nerdiest slot machines on our walk.  Alien slot machine. You put a quarter in and an Alien bursts out of your chest. The usual feeling you get from Vegas after losing money.

*gasp* Look what we stumbled upon!!  Alas they were not open that early in the morning...but that didn't mean I couldn't go back later...which I did...and I bought stuff...I have a problem, yes. Max stayed away out of sheer principal.

After we wandered the very closed shopping mall we made our way over to New York New York.
 
I used to not like New York New York much but its grown on me, mostly because the food there is pretty awesome. We had a couple meals there that were extremely delish.  We spent some time wandering and actually played some slots.

He was last seen winning 23 bucks on a slot machine then promptly losing 23 bucks on another slot machine.

Actually, thats the biggest we won in Vegas. So we quickly cashed it out and used to to pay for food that day. We ate like KINGS I tell you!

We hung out at  New York New York for so long for one reason and one reason only... 
Awwww yeah.
I have been chomping at the bit to eat at Nine Fine Irishmen. And finally I did. And it was beautiful.  We had to wait for a while since they didn't open until 10am and we were awake at OMG'o clock in the morning. So by the time we got there we were starving...then I drank 3 snake bites on an empty stomache and Max had a few guiness and a couple black and tans. Needless to say we were nice and toasted within the first few moments of our first lunch in Vegas.  I'm pretty sure we drunk Text Ty a few times along the lines of  "OM*G Were S0o Fr8kn drmk!11!". All before 11am folks. We like to start early.
We ended up passing out for 2 hours after lunch.

I really have no idea why I took this picture...probably because I was amused that this place was never open once the whole time we were there.

I really wish this picture didn't turn out so blurry. Its actually really cute. We took this at New York New York after we won money and before we got f'shnockered .

We went to the Mandaley Bay Aquarium but I have so many pictures of that that it deserves its own post.

That night? Dinner at Rumjungle! Or BEST RESTRAUNT EVAR!!
I really cannot express the love Max and I had for Rumjungle. And we didn't love it just because it had the word Rum in the title. The food was excellent carribean fusion food that I still dream about. Two words: Conch Fritters. OMG best thing ever.

Us all spruced up for dinner. It looks like our last known photo. I have such a talent for blurring photos.Note the large bag of Lush there...yeah I ventured out after I woke up from my Guinness coma.

Rumjungle's Wall 'o Rum!  It has a cat walk through it so the bartenders can reach the top bottles. You name the rum, they probably have it. I had the best rum and coke of my life here. Bacardi 8 and coke. My rum and coke DID NOT FIZZ. It was like the waved the coke at the glass to threaten it then handed me the drink.



And here we are after our meal. Those of you who have met Mr Max have probably figured out he's a bit of a booze snob (I know, SHOCKING) so this place made him extremely happy since it offered us some strange and good rums to try out. Note the snifter on the table there. That was an expensive old rum (forgot the name) that he asked for a shot of. They brought him that snifter half full of the stuff. THAT was their idea of a tasting shot.
I had the jerk chicken and it was incredible. We're thinking when we go back in October to try their carribean BBQ which looks SO good. We almost got that but we didn't have enough room after the Nine Fine Irishmen party we had. And That brings Day 1 to a close. More to Come!

LOL i'm loving these posts. you and the lush store!!! heehee! That rumwall looks amaaaazing. nine fine irishmen...that takes me back! a couple years ago, I went to Vegas with my then boyfriend. We kept randomly yelling NINE FINE IRISHMEN in Irish accents randomly through the trip.
